Meet the Author
Roseanne Oppmann is a Licensed Clinical Professional Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with over Forty years of experience helping children, families and educators. She has worked as both a Special Education Teacher and a School Counselor. Roseanne is the current Vice-President of the Schultz Foundation for Advancing Counseling. She is also a consultant and speaker and she enjoys attending local, state and national opportunities where she can share her expertise with others. Roseanne currently is the owner of Partners for Inner Healing, her private practice counseling and consulting business. She provides services in Illinois and Florida, where she is dedicated to supporting children, teens, and families—often with the help of her Certified Therapy Goldendoodle, Myla. Roseanne is also the author of the books, “I Took My Mommy’s Heart To School” and “In My Heart, First Day of School.” She enjoys visiting schools, daycares and other facilities with Myla to share her book in an interactive and heartfelt manner. Her greatest passion is empowering family members to strive for cohesiveness by growing, connecting, and thriving together.
Meet the Illustrator
Maria Ciaccio, a mother, illustrator, and professional web designer resides in Chicago, Illinois. Her inspiration comes from her vast appreciation for the arts and her sweet baby girl Laila.
She looks forward to the proud day she will walk Laila to her first day of school and remind her that her Mommy will always be with her in heart.

Meet Julie M. Holloway, a creative director and multi‑media artist leading the visual re‑imagining of My Friend Myla’s new brand and website. Known for her dynamic, high‑energy artwork and bold approach to graphic and web design, Julie brings a signature blend of passion, intuition, and connection to every project she touches.
With roots in fine art, digital media, and self‑publishing, she works fluidly across mediums—from oils and acrylics to digital illustration and design—crafting pieces that spark curiosity, conversation, and lasting emotional resonance. Julie’s mission is simple: to create art that moves people and continues to inspire long after the first encounter.
